Less than 24 hours after her exit from Yahoo, it seemed like former CEO Marissa Mayer was taking a shot at her old company.
But, she says, her words were simply taken out of context.
At a conference in London, Mayer, who had worked at Google before jumping to Yahoo, reportedly said she's excited about being able to use the Gmail app once again, according to The Verge.
Speaking at the AccelerateHER forum, Mayer reportedly said she is “always faster when using a tool I designed myself.”

Mayer disputed reporting of the comment Wednesday afternoon, saying her words were taken out of context, and that she will continue to use Yahoo, too.
I will continue to use the excellent Yahoo Mail too. The team's hard work paid off with a dramatically better product. https://t.co/ZQyTvjULlW

Mayer moved from Google, where she worked as the vice president of location and search, to Yahoo in 2012.
The sale of Yahoo to Verizon went through Tuesday, marking Mayer's $23 million exit from the company. Verizon will combine Yahoo with AOL to form a media company called Oath.
